Holly Rush

Bio: I started running as a fun runner when I was at University but didn’t start formally training until 2005 when I met my coach and now husband Martin Rush. I had a breakthrough run at London Marathon improving my time by 10 minutes. Since then I have run over 25 marathons all over the world and been lucky enough to represent Great Britain and England 6 times, something that I never dreamt I would do as a non-exercising, beer swilling student. Representing Great Britain and winning a Bronze medal in the European Championships was one of the best days of my life and made all the hard training worth while. Having my family and friends there to share in the experience was just awesome. For the record, I wouldn’t say I am the most talented or natural runner but I think I have plenty of endurance and just love the feeling that running and training gives me. Last year I decided I needed to change things so I entered my first ultra....Comrades, the big daddy of road ultras. To my utter delight I came 7th and totally fell in love with the ultra world. Since then I haven't looked back, Ive ran road ultras, trail ultras and recently dipped my toe in to the mountain trail ultra scene. As well as all things running my other passions are travelling and adventure and my trusted running partner Mole the wires haired pointer. I also like to dabble in a bit of cooking......
